Downloading Movies to your Computer

In order to play a video you will want to download it to your computer first. Simply right-click on the link, select "Save Target As" (in Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (in Firefox) and a dialog box should open asking you where you want to save your file.

Please do NOT simply click the download link - with some browsers, doing so will try to play the video right away in your browser, which may cause problems depending on your internet connection, browser plugins, and other factors. Again, please RIGHT-CLICK and save the video to your computer.

Here is what you should see when you right-click (this may look slightly different depending on your browser version):

INTERNET EXPLORER

Right-Click in Internet Explorer

FIREFOX

Right Click in Firefox

In case you glanced over the notice above, here it is again: please do not simply click the link. Doing so will attempt to play the movie directly in your browser, which may or may not work properly depending on your internet speeds and browser plugin settings. You need to right-click and save the movie to your computer.

Mac users please click here to learn how to "right-click" on a Mac...

Playing Downloaded Movies

All movies are verified to play correctly before they are made available to you. This means if you encounter a movie that does not play on your computer, or it plays but you can't fast-forward properly, then the download either was corrupted (for example, if your internet connection briefly got interrupted), or the program you are using to play the movie has problems.

If the download was corrupted, please simply download the movie again.

If your media player software has problems it is usually easier to uninstall, then re-install the media player than trying to fix it. If you have problems with Windows Media Player, please click here to download the latest version. Make sure you un-install the old version, then install the new one.

All WMV and MPEG movies are verified to play on all Windows Media Player (WMP) versions 11 and 12. WMVs will also play if you have Windows Media Player version 10 but you need to have all updates and patches. If you have WMP 10 and don't wish to upgrade you might encounter an error stating "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the required video codec is not installed on your computer".

If so please visit the Microsoft web site to download additional hotfixes to enable WMP9 to play these videos.

All movies will also play with many other free media players, including:

VLC Media Player

Media Player Classic

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

To ensure smooth playback you'll want to have at least the following:

Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

1.8 Ghz processor (Core 2 Duo and faster), or 2.4 Ghz Processor (Pentium 4)

At least 2GB of memory

Dedicated video card (at least 128MB)

Less powerful systems may be able to play videos but we cannot guarantee a smooth experience.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

If you encounter jerky playback or video that just doesn't play smoothly, and have verified that you meet the minimum system requirements above, the following steps may help:

1) temporarily disable your antivirus software, such as Norton Antivirus or McAfee

2) if your hard drive is full you most likely will notice problems. Try to clean up any uncessary files. Remember to empty the Recyle Bin after deleting your files.

3) Shut down any programs you don't need. Many programs eat up system resources even if they run in the background.
