Playing Windows Media Video (WMV) Movies on a Mac

Simply go to the Flip4Mac plugin web site and select to download the FREE player. Once it is installed, please restart the Quicktime player - you should then be able to play WMV videos within Quicktime.

Downloading Movies to your Mac (Right-click explained)
In order to download a video to your Mac you need to "control-click" the download link. On Windows computers this is called "right-click".

Note: do not simply click the link. Doing so will attempt to play the movie directly in your browser, which may or may not work properly depending on your internet speeds and browser plugin settings. Always "control-click" to download, please.

Simply hold down the "control" button on your Mac keyboard at the same time you click the video link. A dialog box should open that lets you select where you want the movie file downloaded to.

After the download has completed, simply find the movie file, click it, and Quicktime should open. The Flip4Mac plugin within Quicktime will begin processing the file and you should be able to play the movie after that.

PLAYING MOVIES ON YOUR iPHONE or iPOD TOUCH

Some sites offer videos in the MP4 format. If you are able to play a movie on your iPhone or iPod the site will say so specifically. Only movies in MP4 are supported on the iPhone/iPod Touch. WMV movies can not be played on these devices.

In order to play a MP4 movie on your iPhone/iPod Touch you need to

a) download the movie completely to your computer

b) import the movie to iTunes

c) transfer the movie to your iPhone/iPod Touch
